Rules and regulations
Rider Eligibility:
- Experience Level: Riders for independent trail rides should meet the minimum age requirements for each tour length unless exceptions are made based on their riding experience.
- Helmet Use: We require all riders, regardless of age, to wear a properly fitted helmet throughout the trail ride. We provide helmets for all guests at no additional charge.
- Appropriate Clothing: Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing suitable for horseback riding. Closed-toe shoes with a heel are recommended for proper foot placement in stirrups.
- Equipment Inspection: Upon receiving your equipment, inspect it carefully for any damage or malfunctions. Inform your guide of any concerns immediately.
- Weight Limitations: The maximum weight for riders is 120kg.
- Age restrictions: Minimum age for riding is 5 years old (led by hand). Minimum age for riding independently is 10 years old depending on riding experience and ability.
Responsible Riding:
- Maintain control of your horse at all times. Avoid sudden movements, excessive speed, or harsh commands that may cause the horse to become startled or unruly.
- Communicate clearly with your guide regarding any concerns or questions you may have. Follow their instructions carefully and promptly.
- Riding Order: Unless otherwise stated by the guide, all riders must stay behind their guide.
Trail Etiquette:
- Stay on Designated Trails: Keep to the designated trail, avoiding shortcuts or creating new paths unless otherwise instructed by your trail guide.
- Passing Protocol: When passing other trail users (i.e., hikers, bikers, etc.), slow to a walk and communicate your intentions clearly.
- Waste Disposal: Notify your guide if your horse stops to poop. They will be responsible for collecting and disposing of the manure if necessary.
Additional Considerations:
- Weather Conditions: Be aware of weather forecasts and dress accordingly. We may cancel or postpone rides due to unsafe weather conditions.
- Medical Conditions: Inform your guide of any pre-existing medical conditions or allergies that may impact your riding experience.
- Photography: Photography is permitted on the trail; however, be respectful of other riders and avoid blocking their path or disrupting their riding experience.
